Program Name: Project GO Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

Program Description: Provides financial assistance in the form of an annual (once every 12 months) utility payment for gas, electric, propane or firewood to help with the high costs of heating and/or cooling. Annual utility bill assistance can range from $257 to $445, depending on the total household income and energy costs.

Income Eligibility: Up to 80% of area median income for each jurisdiction

Program Name: Project GO Emergency Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP)

Program Description: Provides financial assistance in the event of a crisis, such as a 48-hour shut-off notice. Applicants for ECIP assistance may receive more than the annual credit allowed under the HEAP program (above).

Income Eligibility: Up to 80% of area median income for each jurisdiction

Program Name: Truckee Donner Public Utility District (TDPUD) Energy Savings Program (ESP)

Program Description: Qualifying low-income residents receive one month free electricity bill (up to $200) after they complete an energy audit with TDPUD. Apply through the Family Resource Center of Truckee (call 530-587-2513).

Location Eligibility: TDPUD electricity payer (Truckee area)

Income Eligibility: Applicants must be approved under another local organization’s income qualified program or provide documentation of a 25% loss of income.

Program Requirements:

  • Applicants must be a TDPUD electric rate payer
  • Applicants must be a primary resident.
