Program Name: Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program

Program Description: Assists low-income homeowners with 15-year deferred payment loans to make health and safety repairs to their homes. Maximum amount of assistance is $33,000.

Location Eligibility: Unincorporated areas of Nevada County

Income Eligibility: Up to 80% of area median income ($61,050 for a family of 4 in 2017)

Program Requirements:

  • Maximum after rehabilitation value not to exceed 100% of the current median sales price of a single-family home in Nevada County.

Program Name: State and Federal Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program

Program Description: Provides low-interest loans to low-income households to rehabilitate their homes. The County’s primary emphasis is in correcting health and safety issues.

Location Eligibility: Unincorporated areas of Placer County

Income Eligibility: Varies based on program, but typically, households making up to 80 percent AMI are eligible to apply for rehabilitation loan funds in the County ($59,350 for a family of 4 in 2017)

Program Name: Housing Rehabilitation USDA Grant & Loan Program

Program Description: Provides low-interest (1%) loans of up to $20,000 low-income homeowners to make needed repairs or improvements. For those 62 years old or older, they may qualify for a onetime grant of up to $7,500 to remove health or safety hazards.
