HOUSING ACTION:
Partners Glean New Ideas and Approaches to Housing at Solution Summit
MHC and partners attended the National Solution Summit for the Housing Crisis. Partners were able to strategize with community leaders and housing coalitions across the country on solutions to accelerate our own regional housing efforts.
Provide Public Comment on Placer County’s Housing Goals, Policies, and Programs
The 2021-2029 Housing Element Public Review Draft includes new policies and programs to address several new state housing laws. Give input at the Board of Supervisors Meeting, Tuesday, December 15. The agenda will be posted December 11 on the Board agenda webpage.
PROJECTS IN THE WORKS
New Project: Estates Meadows Housing Development
The Town of Truckee planning division has received an application to construct a 30-unit affordable housing project located at 10020 Estates Drive. The applicant is proposing 30 units to be restricted to households with incomes in the range of 50-60 percent area median income (AMI).
Approved Agreement: Hopkins Village Workforce Housing
Placer County working with Hopkins Village, LLC (the property owner) and Parker Lane Truckee, LLC (the builder) have approved an agreement to work together to build 40 half plex units on 40 lots for households in the local workforce. The units will be deed restricted for the first five years to households working locally with incomes at or below 180% of the AMI.. At all times after the unit has sold, the unit will be restricted for resale to employees within the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District boundary.
